Our Lodge in Australia

"The purpose of the Temple is to create a sanctuary, not only for worship, healing and communion, but literally a meeting place between earth and spirit, and a focal point for the radiation of God’s healing light into dense material life".

The Temple was opened on 1st September 1990, and is the centre of worship for the White Eagle Lodge, in Australia.

The Temple in Australia

The Exterior

White Eagle says: "As you stand gazing at the entrance you may see on the lintel the symbol of the winged disc, symbol of the spiritual sun which can be seen by those with vision in the heart of every man, woman and child.....the sun which gives man wings to fly, to rise above the bondage of earth and into the world of light".

The Interior of the Temple

The Interior

The Temple is perfectly circular, representing the universal and enfolding love of God.....The canopy or roof of the Temple is the covering, the protection, the love of the creator, and is supported by pillars. These pillars are the spiritual qualities of the soul. The colours of the inside of the Temple enfold the worshipper as the petals enfold the heart of the rose.

The Altar

Designed for simplicity, is a symbol of the place of light within one’s inmost being, where one communes with God. It is the communion table of spirit, and on it burns the little flame, symbol of the Christ light or love in the heart of each one of us.

Accommodation in the Retreat Centre

The Retreat Centre

This was the second stage of the complex built in 1992. There seemed a great need for a place where people could come for spiritual refreshment, a place where one could find deep peace and be able to withdraw to that inner place of stillness.
Retreats are held six times a year at present. Morning meditation sounds the keynote for the whole Retreat as the group draws together on the inner planes in communion and service. More information on Retreats contact the Lodge, by Email or see our page on Retreats

Some Points of Interest

The White Eagle Lodge Temple was opened by Ylana Hayward (daughter of Grace Cooke) and Doris Commins on 1st September 1990, and dedicated to the service of God and the Star Brotherhood by White Eagle.
The foundation footings for the Temple (unknown to us at the time of planning) are in the shape of an equal sided cross within a circle, which is also reflected in the aperture of the dome.
The Brotherhood library contains the Lodge’s reference library, which is designed as a representative collection of books on spiritual matters. Many of the books were bequeathed to the Lodge. This room is also used for special meditations and as a council chamber. The circular table in the library is made of Western Australian Jarrah and has a star in the centre made of Tasmanian oak.
White Eagle’s portrait which hangs in the library, was painted under powerful inspiration by R. Vicaji and was presented by him to Grace Cooke many years later. Small copies of this portrait together with more details about it are available on request.
The Lodge is manned by three ordained ministers in the White Eagle Lodge, an office staff, and a team of volunteers who maintain the centre. The Lodge and its activities are funded by the sale of the White Eagle publications, memberships, donations and fund raising activities (please see 'How can I help!').
